2025 called, it wants its coffee back.

So, as many of you fashionistas may have already noticed, Pantone has blessed us with its new 2025 Color of the Year. Drumroll please... yes! It’s Mocha Mousse, and she’s brat. If you thought brown suede was having a moment this past fall and winter, just wait until it’s validated by its friend, Mocha Mousse, in 2025.

As we welcome this new Color of the Year, I suggest following rule #82: not all trends should be followed, but if one keeps making a comeback, it’s worth investing in.

Fashion will serve as a huge source of inspiration for interiors as we try to incorporate this warm brown tone into our homes. An easy way to do this is through fabrics like leather and suede. But you can also explore velvets, wovens, bouclé, and even linens—whatever fits best with your current aesthetic!

Darker, richer woods are another great way to introduce brown into your space. Beyond that, stones are a cool element that can help warm up typically colder areas of the home. Personally, I also love brown tones in glass, so if you’re in the market for new glassware, I suggest browsing the brown color family.

Another material that easily incorporates brown into the home is metal, especially aged finishes. Specifically, I’m thinking of burnished antique brass. Consider using this metal in furniture, cabinet and door hardware, or even light fixtures.

So, as you welcome 2025 with your warm mocha latte or a fresh velvety mousse, remember: brown is back—and it may be here to stay. Take the time to invest in this trend and make your space even more beautiful!
